A trusted partnership, a new platform: Stuwarooij chooses MyLogistics

Dedicated stevedores since 1989, a pledge that Stuwarooij lives up to. For over 35 years, Stuwarooij has been supporting customers with the loading and unloading of containers. With more than 300 employees, the Dutch company handles large volumes of goods every day, but its philosophy has always remained the same: treat the customer’s products as if they were your own.

“After more than 30 years in the logistics sector, we know how important it is to handle cargo correctly. That personal approach is deeply ingrained in our organisation. Our customers must be able to trust that their goods are in safe hands with us”, says Leon Haasakker, General Manager of Stuwarooij.

To continue guaranteeing that same quality and efficiency in the years to come, Stuwarooij is taking a significant step forward today: the switch to MyLogistics, the new generation of logistics software from AGePe Logistics Software.

Ready for the next generation of logistics ERP

The partnership between Stuwarooij and AGePe Logistics Software goes back more than 15 years. During that time, both organisations have grown together.

Leon Haasakker: “In the past, a lot was still done using Excel files, a whiteboard and manual processes. The AGePe software we used afterwards served us well for years. However, it was gradually reaching its limits. Over the years, module after module was added, making the system less user-friendly. What’s more, our staff often had to enter the same data multiple times. But the solution was just around the corner, because you’ve since developed a completely new platform based on Mendix technology. It’s just what we needed.”

A platform that grows with us

Our choice of Mendix offers our customers greater flexibility, scalability, ease of use and integration options. At the same time, all the accumulated logistics knowledge is retained. For Stuwarooij, that vision resonated.

Leon Haasakker: “During the demos, we noticed immediately that MyLogistics is a completely different generation of software. More modern, clearer and much better suited to the efficiency we need today. At the same time, we recognise the logistics knowledge and practical experience that AGePe Logistics Software has built up over the years. During the initial analyses, it also quickly became clear that MyLogistics fits in perfectly with our day-to-day operations. Around 80% was immediately usable; for the remaining 20%, we are looking towards customisation. You simply won’t find that kind of ratio with any other supplier in the market.”

Phased MyLogistics implementation

The project is currently in the preparatory phase. Together with the AGePe team, we are working step by step on the implementation of the new platform.

Leon Haasakker: “We are now well into the process of shaping our future processes together with you. In addition, we are organising internal sessions with our departments to ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible. In the first phase, container planning will be optimised. Next on the agenda is the roll-out of the Mobile Worker App. This will enable more than 300 employees to track their assignments, time registrations and operational activities digitally. For us, the greatest benefits lie in more efficient planning, fewer manual tasks and a lower risk of errors. We want to eliminate waste from our processes and better support our employees in their daily work."

Trust as the basis for the software switch

For Stuwarooij, this transition is about more than just software. "It’s all about trust, knowing the industry and understanding each other”, he says. "We’ve been working with Guy Verbiest and Nancy Daems for years. They’ve become real pillars of support for our organisation. That knowledge of our processes and challenges is particularly valuable. We believe in long-term relationships. Not in quick fixes, but in growing together and improving step by step. That is exactly how this implementation is going."

The outlook for the future is therefore positive. "The great thing is that we don’t have to start from scratch again. You’ve been familiar with our organisation, processes and challenges for years. As a result, this transition doesn’t feel like a software replacement, but rather a logical next step in a partnership that has lasted for over 15 years”, concludes Leon Haasakker.
