HIZKIA and My-ART-Logistics: together futureproof

For over 20 years, HIZKIA and AGePe Logistics Software have been propelling each other forward in the field of logistics planning – or more accurately, challenging one another. By listening, sharing knowledge, and injecting that know-how into our ERP system. Thanks in part to input from HIZKIA, we’ve been able to further develop My-ART-Logistics into the reference software for art logistics.

As a leading European specialist in fine art logistics, HIZKIA now operates in six countries. Through strategic acquisitions, the company offers not only transport but also restoration, collection management, condition reporting, and consultancy services. With this strong growth came the need for new logistics software that could support their expanding operations.

Future-proof logistics software

Previously, HIZKIA used the legacy logistics package from AGePe Logistics Software. “A solid system, but end of life”, says Anneke van der Sanden, CFO of HIZKIA. “We’ve grown into a European company, and we wanted our software to reflect that. It needed to be futureproof and support our continued ambitions.”

After surveying the market, HIZKIA decided to continue the partnership with AGePe Logistics Software, this time based on the entirely new My-ART-Logistics platform, developed from scratch using Mendix technology. “AGePe Logistics Software is one of the few providers that integrates logistics services and project-based work in one system. That made the difference for us.”

Co-creating My-ART-Logistics

From brainstorming sessions and test phases to going live… by 2025, the implementation will be entering its final phase. “Certain functionalities, like an overview of planning, are a top priority for us”, Anneke continues. “We needed additional development and coordination before we could properly go live. Other clients’ needs are also integrated into the releases – which makes sense – and that naturally takes time. We’ve clarified our priorities, and we’re almost there.”

Around 80 users are currently exploring My-ART-Logistics. Some branches previously used MS-DOS systems, or had no ERP at all. “We already see the potential of the insightful reports and improved control capabilities. That alone enables much more effective conversations about planning and resources”, says Anneke.

User-friendly, scalable, and internationally deployable ERP

At HIZKIA Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and France, the project module is already in full use. In the Netherlands, the Warehouse Management System (WMS) is partially running, and the German team is in the startup phase. The planning module is expected to go live in multiple countries in the second half of 2025.

“We experience it as a very intuitive system. Pleasant to use, well-designed, and not overly complex. You need to have your processes in order, but the software itself works very smoothly. The AGePe Logistics Software team is committed, technically adept, and genuinely wants to deliver quality. The service desk works well, and we see that the organization continues to evolve. Their international expansion is also important for us”, Anneke concludes.
